Dear Kandace,
Sixty year old Sanyasi Rao, lives with his wife in the village of Vetlapalem, in coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Both, Sanyasi Rao and his wife work as agricultural laborer and have no children, to care for them in their old age. Since the last six months, Sanyasi Rao’s vision had started diminishing and could not go to work, like earlier. He became dependent on his wife, who was finding it difficult to manage the household chores and agricultural work.
He was worried about his eye sight and with the advice of his neighbor, decided to get an eye-examination. After a complete eye-examination, he was found to have developed a cataract in both his eyes. He was advised to undergo surgery for the right eye, first. With not much savings, he knew he could not afford surgery and he had no relatives either, who could lend him money.
Understanding his plight, Sankurathri Foundation decided to bear the cost of his treatment and surgery which was only possible, because of your generous donation, Kandace.
Your donation also covered the transportation costs incurred in getting Sanyasi Rao to the hospital and also for two post-operative visits. Post surgery, Sanyasi Rao is very happy that he can see better and can look after his wife, again.
Thank you so much, Kandace, for restoring Sanyasi Rao’s vision and helping him get back to his old life. Your support is much appreciated.
