Mangayamma can do her chores!

Mangayamma
Dear Vibhor,

Seventy year old Mangayamma lives with her son, in the village of Panduru in Andhra Pradesh.

She had always been an independent woman, managing her needs herself and helping around in the house. But lately, she was finding it difficult to do any work, even manage her own chores. Her condition only aggravated and she became increasingly depressed about being  a burden to her son and his family.

She realized her vision was diminishing and complained to her son. He got her eyes tested at the Srikiran Institute, run by Sankurathri Foundation and found that Mangayamma had developed a cataract in both her eyes and needed to undergo surgery.  Her son who is a farm laborer barely earned enough and couldn’t afford to pay for her cataract surgery.

Thanks to your timely help, Vibhor, Mangayamma’s operation costs were taken care of. Your donation also covered the cost of her transportation to the hospital and two post-operative visits by the Doctors.

Your gift has helped Mangayamma see better and she is happy to be able to do her own chores and help her son’s family at home.

Thank you, Vibhor for your timely help and support that was instrumental in restoring Mangayamma’s eyesight and self confidence.
