Mrs. Basava Ramanamma is a 70 year old widow, who lives with her son in the village of Chitrada.
Over the years, due to inadequate medical care Ramanamma had developed a cataract problem in both her eyes and was almost completely blind. She found it difficult to manage her own needs and was very upset about becoming a burden on her son’s family.
In a village out-reach eye camp organized by Sankurathri Foundation in Chitrada, Ramanamma underwent an eye-examination and was advised to undergo Cataract surgery at the earliest, to correct her vision. With no income of her own, she couldn’t afford to pay for her surgery.
Your generous donation, Lesley, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to bear the costs of Ramanamma’s surgery. Your donation also covered the cost of her transportation to the Hospital for two post-operative visits.
Thanks to your timely help and support, she can now see better and is very happy to be able to do her chores and is also ready to help her son’s family at home. You are instrumental in restoring her dignity and self confidence.
Thank you so much Lesley, for your support!
