Dear Anmol,
Sixty-five year old Lanka Padamma is a widow who lives with her son. They live in the village of Atchuthapuram in Kakinada.
Lanka Padamma’s son is a farm laborer and barely earns enough to support the needs of the family. Lately, due to inadequate medical care Padamma had developed a cataract problem in both her eyes and was almost completely blind. She found it difficult to manage her own needs and was very upset about becoming a burden on her son who is physically handicapped himself.
In a village out-reach eye camp organized by Sankurathri Foundation, Padamma underwent an eye-examination and was advised to undergo Cataract surgery at the earliest, to correct her vision. With no income of her own, she couldn’t afford to pay for her surgery and knew her son would not be able to pay for the surgery either.
Your generous donation, Anmol, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to bear the costs of Padamma’s surgery. Your donation also covered the cost of her transportation to the Hospital for two post-operative visits.
Thanks to your timely help and support, she can now see better and is very happy to be able to do her chores and is also ready to help her son’s family at home. You are instrumental in restoring her dignity and self confidence.
Thank you so much Anmol, for your support!
