Seventy five year old Raju lives in a village called Vetlapalem.
He has four children, three daughters and one son, all of whom are married and living on their own. Raju and his wife live alone and are content with the meager salary that he earns.
Raju is a night Watchman by profession and earns just enough to provide for the two of them. Lately, his vision started diminishing, as is the common symptom of ageing. Because of his poor vision, he started finding it difficult to work in the night.
In one of the village outreach camps organized by Sankurathri Foundation, he was identified as having Cataract and was advised to undergo Cataract Surgery to correct his vision. With no source of income of his own, he was unable to pay for his surgery and glasses. But, Sankurathri Foundation decided to perform the surgery free of cost, and he needed corrective glasses after the Surgery.
Your generous donation, Jamie, covered the cost of glasses while Sankurathri Foundation covered the cost of post-operative visits to the Hospital. Raju is very happy that he can resume work and support his family again.
Thank you so much Jamie for your timely help and support. You are instrumental in restoring Sathi Raju’s self confidence.
