Gift of vision!

Dear Elizabeth,

Fifty-seven year old, Satyanarayana, lives with his wife in the village of Biccavolu, in coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Satayanarayana was a driver by profession but because of his poor vision, he had to quit driving and take up a job as a watchman. But he couldn’t work in this role as well, because of his cataract problem.

In spite of having three children, he lives alone with his wife, with no one to care for them. He got one eye operated two years ago but it was of no use and he became almost blind in one eye. He then developed  a cataract in the second eye too, after which he became very dependent on his wife, even for his most personal chores.

Upset about his condition, he attended the eye camp, organized by Sankurathri Foundation and was identified as having cataract. He was asked to undergo surgery but with absolutely no savings, he could not afford surgery and he knew his children would not pay for it, either.

Sankurathri Foundation performed a surgery, free of cost for him, after which he needed to wear corrective glasses.

Your generous donation, Elizabeth, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide a pair of glasses to Satyanarayana, with which he can now see clearly again.

He is very happy that he didn’t have to plead to his children for help and is very thankful to you.

Thank you, Elizabeth, f0r your timely help!
