Sixty-three year old, Mariyamma, lives in the village of Anaparthi, in coastal Andhra Pradesh. Ever since her husband died in a train accident, she has been living with her only daughter and her family.
Even though her daughter doesn’t treat her well she has no choice except to stay with her.
Mariyamma’s eye sight had diminished significantly for the last one year but she could not go to consult an eye doctor. Her daughter was no help at all.
She realized that not getting her eyes treated would only make her more dependent on her daughter and so, she decided to go for a complete check-up and it was found that she needed corrective glasses to be able to see clearly.
With no income or savings, she confessed not having enough money to buy glasses. Seeing her poor economic condition, Sankurathri Foundation provided her a pair of glasses.
Your generous donation, Elizabeth, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to bear the cost of her glasses. Thanks to that, she can now see clearly and is very grateful to you for your support.
Thank you, Elizabeth, for helping Mariyamma, thereby restore her self confidence.
