Seventy-five year old, Venkanna, hails from the village of Vulapalli, in coastal Andhra Pradesh.
He is a widower and lives with his younger son and his family, since his health is not too good. He has three children and the son with whom he lives, works as a carpenter on daily wages and earns only on the days that he finds work. In a lucky month, he earns up to $120, which can only meet their most basic needs. Venkanna, himself does not work anymore because of his failing health.
Venkanna however, helped with small household chores like buying and cleaning groceries etc., just so he stays busy and is also of help around the house. But lately, he had noticed that his vision had become extremely blurry and he was finding it difficult to do any work, himself.
His son escorted him to the nearby clinic run by Sankurathri Foundation and after a complete eye-examination, it was found that he needed corrective glasses to see clearly. With no income of his own, Venkanna could not afford to buy one and knew his son would not be able to, either.
Your generous donation, B n T, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide him a pair of glasses with which he can see clearly now and is very happy.
Thank you so much, for this gift!
