Fifty-two year old, Lakshmi hails from the village of Puttakonda, in coastal Andhra Pradesh. She and her husband, live with their only son, here.
Lakshmi’s husband used to work as a watchman but he is out of work because of his ill health. As a result, the elderly couple are living with their son who is a mason and earns $4 a day. The couple also have two other daughters who are married and live separately with their families.
Lakshmi suddenly noticed her vision was diminishing and went to the Hospital to get her eyes examined. After a complete examination, she was advised to wear a pair of corrective glasses. With no income of her own, Lakshmi could not afford to buy one and knew her son had no savings either.
Your generous donation, Michael, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide her a pair of glasses with which she can see clearly now and is very happy.
Thank you so much, for this gift!
