A smiling Nagamani, with her new glasses!

Kotani Nagamani, 55y, F
Dear Jennifer,

Fifty-five year old, Nagamani hails from the village of Toorangi, in coastal Andhra Pradesh. She lives here, with her husband who works as a farm laborer to support their needs. He earns up to $100 a month, which is barely enough to meet their basic needs.

Although they have two children, none of them check on the parents or even pay for their needs. Nagamani and her husband worked to support themselves and had learned not to depend on their children.

But when Nagamani suddenly realized that her vision was diminishing, she became very depressed as she couldn’t do any of her chores at home.  At that time, Sankurathri foundation was organizing a free eye camp in her village, where she had a complete eye checkup done and was advised to wear corrective glasses. With no income or savings of her own, she could not afford to buy a pair of glasses.

Sankurathri Foundation was able to provide, Nagamani a pair of glasses, only because of your generous donation, Jennifer.

Thank you, Jennifer, for your kindness. With your help, Nagamani can now see better and looks forward to resuming work.
