Lakshmi can do her household chores!

Pilli Lakshmi, F, 50y
Dear Susan,

Fifty year old, Lakshmi, hails from the village of Vemulavada, in coastal Andhra Pradesh and is living with her husband Krishna, who works as a farm laborer. He earns up to $100 a month, which is just enough to meet their most basic needs. Although they have five children – three daughters and two sons, none of them take care of them or even pay for their needs.

Lakshmi kept herself busy with the household chores. But when she suddenly realized that her vision was diminishing, she became very depressed.  At that time, Sankurathri foundation was organizing a free eye camp in her village, where she had a complete eye checkup done and was advised to wear corrective glasses. With no income or savings of her own, she could not afford to buy one and knew it would be difficult for her husband too.

Your generous donation, Susan, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide her a pair of glasses with which she can see clearly now and is very happy.

Thank you, Susan, for your kindness. With your help, Lakshmi can do her household chores.
