Fifty-eight year old, Musalamma hails from the village of Vemulavada, in coastal Andhra Pradesh. She has six children, all of whom are married and settled. Her husband passed away a few years back and ever since, she has been living with her son and his family.
Musalamma helped around the house and was quite independent. But, since the last few months, she was depressed as she noticed defective vision in both her eyes and she could not do her own work at home. She also had no money for a medical checkup. At that time, Sankurathri foundation was organizing a free eye camp in her village, where she had a complete eye checkup done and was advised glasses for better vision. With no income or savings of her own, she could not afford to buy one and was upset about burdening her son, with an additional expense.
Your generous donation, Susan, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide her a pair of glasses with which she can see clearly now and is very happy.
Thank you, Susan, for your kindness. With your help, Musalamma can look after herself now.
