Sitaratnam has clear vision, again!

Sixty year old, Sitaratnam hails from the village of Mamidada, in coastal Andhra Pradesh. She and her husband live with their second son and his family. Her husband, who is 70 years old, does not work anymore because of his ill health.

So they are dependent on their son, who is a carpenter and earns about $120 per month. With this amount, Sitaratnam’s son has to manage the entire household, along with supporting his parents and his own wife and two children.

Sitaratnam assists her daughter-in-law in domestic chores and she also looks after her grand children. But since the last one year, Sitaratnam was finding it difficult to work because of her poor vision. When she went to the eye screening camp, organized by Sankurathri Foundation,  she advised to wear corrective glasses. She and her husband had no source of income or savings of their own and she did not want to burden her son, with an additional expense.

Your generous donation, Rany, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide her a pair of glasses with which she can see clearly now and is very happy.
