Thoughtful gift of glasses!

Dulla Veeramma, 70
Dear Jyothi,

Seventy year old Veeramma, is an old widow living in the village of Sampara, in coastal Andra Pradesh.  After her husband’s demise, she has been staying with her son’s family, for the last five years. Up to last year she was able to manage her own chores at home and also help her daughter-in-law with domestic work. But slowly her vision started diminishing and since the last one year and she found it difficult to manage at home and was very depressed.

In one of the eye camps organized by Sankurathri Foundation in her village, Veeramma was examined and was found to have refractive error. She needed a pair of corrective glasses to be able to see well. Veeramma, who was already operated once for cataract about five years ago was wearing glasses, until her grandson broke them. With no source of income or savings of her own, she had no money to buy glasses and did not want to burden her son.

Your generous donation, Jyothi, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide her a pair of much-needed glasses with which she can now see clearly.

She is very grateful to you, for this thoughtful gesture and can’t thank you enough!

Thank you, Jyothi!
