Lakshmi is 52 years old and lives in Mamidada village with her husband who is a farm laborer. He earns about $4 per day when he is able to find work. He doesn’t have any children to support him, but with his earnings, he is able to support himself and his wife. Lakshmi doesn’t work since she is not keeping good health. Till last year she was able to manage her own chores at home and support her husband by performing domestic responsibilities. But in the last one year, her vision has detoriated and she has not been able to manage her daily chores.
Lakshmi attended the eye screening camp conducted by Sankurathri Foundation at Mamidada and after a thorough eye examination it was found that she needs corrective spectacles for her well to see again. When we mentioned her about the price of the spectacles she said that she has no money as she is not an earning member.
Your donation, Erika, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide a pair of spectacles to Lakshmi. She is very happy to have her vision back, and is looking forward to resuming her household duties.
Thank you, Erika.
