Nagalakshmi is healthier and happier now

Eight year old Nagalakshmi lives with her parents, grandmother and older brother in the village of Penumarthi in coastal Andhra Pradesh. Her father, Bhadram, works as a mason in the village of Penumarthi, in coastal Andhra Pradesh. He barely earns enough to support the needs of his family. She studies in grade 2 in Sarada Vidyaayam, the free school run by Sankurathri Foundation. Compared to other students, Nagalakshmi, is one of the brighter children in her class.

Nagalakshmi was undernourished because of the poor quality of food that she was forced to consume at home. This made her anemic and susceptible to infections, resulting in frequent absenteeism. Your donations, will enable Sankurathri Foundation to provide a nutritious lunch comprised of lentils, green leafy vegetables, rice and clarified butter to Nagalakshmi. The food will be cooked using  salt fortified with Iodine and Iron to improve her general health, and the lunch will be supplemented with a glass of milk in the afternoon.
