The smile is back on Mahalakshmi’s face

Sixty years old Gortha Mahalakshmi is a resident of Arthapuram in coastal Andhra Pradesh. She is living with her husband Veeraraju who is working as a farm laborer. Her husband earns $ 3 a day when he has work. She has 2 daughters who are both married and living with their families.

Mahalakshmi has developed cataracts in both eyes and though she could not afford the operation, Sankurathri Foundation performed the surgery on her. Following the operation, she still needed corrective glasses, and your generosity, Katherine, made it possible for Sankurathri Foundation to provide her with a pair.
