Sixty five year old, Gampa Ammaji, lives with her husband, Apparao, in the village Pithapuram in coastal Andhra Pradesh. She developed cataracts in both eyes, which left her virtually blind. She could not mange her own needs, and was dependent on others for everything. Her husband is a farm laborer and couldn’t afford to pay for her cataract surgery.
Your donation, Felix, enabled the Sankurathri Foundation, to perform cataract surgery on Ammaji. In addition to the cost of the intraoccular lens, the donation covers the cost of post operative medication, and transportation to and from the village, including for two follow up visits.
Thank you, Felix, for restoring vision to Ammaji, and for giving back her lost dignity.
