Satyavathi does not have to depend on anyone to provide for her

Seventy five year old Chelluri Satyavathi lives in the village of Pithapuram in coastal Andhra Pradesh. Her husband,  Venkatanadham, died 2 years ago due to some health problem, and since then she has been working as a daily laborer to make ends meet. On a good day, she earns $ 3, which is sufficient to meet her basic needs.  She has one son who has married and living with his wife and children, but Satyavathi does not live with them.

Over the last few months, Satyavathi noticed that her vision was going down. This was proving to be a big problem, because she was not always able to find work. Your donation, Ravi, made it possible for Sankurathri Foundation to provide her with a pair of glasses. Now she can remain self-sufficient, and not have to depend on her son to provide for her.
