Lakshmi can look after herself now and live with dignity in her old age

Gandham Lakshmi is a 65 year old widow living in the village of Tuni. Her husband, Jeevaratnam, died five years ago, and since she doesn’t have any children, she is totally helpless. She works as a daily laborer to make a living and she earns about $ 1.5 a day. Over the last few months, her vision started going down due to cataracts, and she started getting very depressed. Sankurathri Foundation performed cataract surgery on her free of cost, but she was not able to afford the corrective glasses that she needed.
