Dhuli Kondayamma is 80 years old, and lives in the village of Samalkot. She lost her husband, Maha Lakshmi, 18 years back, and since she has no children, she lives in an “Asramam” with her friend. Though her basic needs are met at the Asramam, she is required to take care of her own chores.
A few months back, she developed cataracts in both eyes, which made her quite helpless. Though a free cataract surgery was performed on her, she still needed corrective glasses to be able to see properly, and remain independent.
She could not afford to pay for the glasses, because she doesn’t have an income, but your donation, Madison, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide her with a free pair of corrective glasses. Now, Kondayamma has regained her vision, and she can take care of her basic needs. Thank you for your generosity.
