Adabala Chilakamma is an 80 year old widow living in the village Kondayyapalem. Her husband passed away 20 years back, and she lives with her son who is a carpenter. She has five children in all- three sons and two daughters, all of whom are married. Over the last year, Chilakamma has developed cataracts in both eyes, which made it very difficult for her to manage her own chores. She was completely dependent on her daughter-in-law for many of her needs.
Your donation, Sarah, made it possible for Sankurathri Foundation to perform cataract surgery on both her eyes. In addition to the intraocular lens surgery and medication during and post surgery, Chilakamma was provided free transportation to bring her from her village of Kondayyapalem to the base hospital and back, accomodation and food. Your donation will also cover the cost of two post-operative visits.
Thank you, Sarah, for saving Chilakamma from cataract blindness.
