Seventy five year old Gummala Satyavathi lives in Samalkot in coastal Andhra Pradesh. Her husband, Venkanna, passed away 15 years back, and since then she has been living with one or the other of her six children (three daughters and three sons). She is currently living with her youngest son, and since she has no income of her own, she feels she is imposing on them.
Over the last few months, her eyesight has been going down, and though Sankurathri Foundation performed free cataract surgeries in both eyes, she could not afford even the corrective glasses that were needed for her to be able to see properly.
Your donation, Kayennat, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to donate a pair of corrective glasses to Satyavathi. She can now see well again, and despite her frail appearance is confident she will be able to continue living without assistance. Thank you for your generosity.
