Allimilli Satyavathi wins the battle against cataract

Allimilli Satyavathi
Dear Ray and Lael,

Allimilli Satyavathi is a 50 year old lady who lives with her husband Apparao in the village of Samalkot in coastal Andhra Pradesh. Apparao is a farm labourer whose earnings barely support the family’s basic needs. Satyavathi developed cataracts in both eyes, and made it nearly impossible for
her to manage her own needs. She could not perform her normal chores and was depressed because she felt she was becoming an unnecessary burden upon her husband.

Satyavathi’s cataracts were discovered during an eye camp conducted by Sankurathri Foundation in her village. Since her financial condition does not permit Satyavathi to get her eyes operated upon, your donation, Ray and Leal, was used to fund an intraocular cataract surgery for her. In addition to the cost of the surgery and the post operative medicines, your donation also paid for transportation to and from the hospital, food and accommodation, and will pay for two post operative check-ups.

Thank you, Ray and Leal, for enabling Satyavathi to perform her household chores without having to depend on others.
