Mahalakshmi is thrilled to stand on her own feet!

Medisetti Mahalakshmi is a 60 year old lady who lives with her husband in the village of  Nemam in coastal Andhra Pradesh. Mahalakshmi’s husband Venkata Raju is a daily laborer whose earnings are barely enough to make ends meet.  Until last year, she was able to successfully manage the household chores. But her vision began to drop gradually, making it virtually impossible to carry on independently.  She was depressed as she felt she was becoming an unnecessary burden on her husband.

After an eye exam, it was found that Mahalakshmi needed corrective glasses, but, being poor, she could not afford them.

Your donation, Kowsilliya, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide a free pair of glasses to her. Mahalakshmi can now perform her household chores without depending on others.
