Baleti Satyavathi is a 60 year old lady who lives with her husband in the village of Samalkot in coastal Andhra Pradesh. She has four sons and four daughters, who are are married and living with their families. Satyavathi’s husband Ramarao works as a carpenter and earns about 60 $ a month barely enough to make ends meet. Until last year, she was able to successfully manage the household chores. But her vision began to drop gradually, making it virtually impossible to carry on independently. She was depressed as she felt she was becoming an unnecessary burden on her husband.
After an eye exam, it was found that she needed corrective glasses, but, being poor, she could not afford them.
Your donation, Casey, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide a free pair of glasses to her. She can now perform her household chores without depending on anyone.
Thank you, Casey, for giving Satyavathi the opportunity of enjoying restored eyesight.
