Siva Surya Kumari is healthy and happy

Gollapalli Siva Surya Kumari, 14, 8th
Dear Casey, Marilyn, Jackie, Iliyana, and laura,

Fourteen year old Siva Surya Kumari is studying in grade 8 in Sarada Vidyalayam, the free school run by Sankurathri Foundation in rural Andhra Pradesh. She is the  second child of an agricultural laborer whose monthly income of $ 60 is barely enough to make ends meet.

Girls of Siva’s age and background are normally not encouraged to go to school, but her parents realize that education may be the only chance she has to escape the vicious cycle of poverty, and so they encourage her in every way they can. However, because of poverty and ignorance, Siva does not get a balanced diet at home, and is undernourished. This results in her not being able to concentrate in class, and falling prey to frequent illnesses.

Your donation, Casey, Marilyn, Jackie, Iliyana, and Laura (x8), would ensure that Siva Surya Kumari will be provided with a wholesome and nutritious lunch at school every day. The food would be cooked with iodized salt, and will give her sufficient nutrients for the entire day. She will also get a glass of milk in the evening.

Thank you, Casey, Marilyn, Jackie, Iliyana, and Laura, for ensuring that Siva Surya Kumari is healthy and happy, and can concentrate on her studies.
