Sravani is healthy and happy

Koppula Sravani
Dear Ravi,

Six year old Koppula Sravani is a student of  Grade 1 in Sarada Vidyalayam, the free school run by Sankurathri Foundation in rural Andhra Pradesh. She lives with her family in the village of Penumarthy, located on the outskirts of Kakinada. She is the eldest child in the family. Her father, Satyanarayana, is a mason who earns about 4$ a day, in the by working in the construction sites of small houses, whenever he finds work. The monthly income is barely enough to make ends meet.

Girls of Sravani’s age and background are normally not encouraged to go to school, but her parents realize that education may be the only chance she has to escape the vicious cycle of poverty, and so they encourage her in every way they can. However, because of poverty and ignorance, Sravani does not get a balanced diet at home, and is undernourished. This results in her not being able to concentrate in class, and falling prey to frequent illnesses.

Your donation, Ravi, would ensure that Sravani will be provided with a wholesome and nutritious lunch at school every day. The food would be cooked with iodized salt, and will give her sufficient nutrients for the entire day. She will also get a glass of milk in the evening.

Thank you, Ravi, for ensuring that Sravani is healthy and happy, and can concentrate on her studies.
