Satish can grow up to be a healthy and happy child

Kurupudi Sathish Kumar
Dear Shawna and Nghia,

Six years old Kurupudi Satish Kumar is studying in Grade 1 in Sarada Vidyalayam, the free school run by Sankurathri Foundation in rural Andhra Pradesh. He lives with his family of five members in the village of Penumarthy, in coastal Andhra Pradesh.  Satish is the youngest child in the family and he has one elder sister and one elder brother. All the children are studying in  Sarada Vidyalayam. Their father, Srinu, works as a daily laborer in a rerolling iron factory  earning about 4$ a day whenever he finds work. His earnings are barely enough to make ends meet.

Satish is undernourished because his parents cannot afford to give him a balanced diet at home. Due to this, he finds it difficult to concentrate in class, and often has to miss school because of falling prey to illnesses. Despite these hurdles, Satish is a very active boy whom the teachers are fond of.

With your support, Shawna and Nghia (x11), , the Sankurathri Foundation will provide a wholesome and nutritious lunch to Satish every day. The food would be cooked with iodized salt, and will give him sufficient nutrients for the entire day. He will also get a glass of milk in the evening.

Thank you, Shawna and Nghia, for ensuring that Satish is healthy and happy, and can concentrate on his studies.
