Veeramma can see better with new spectacles

Dulla Veeramma, 70
Dear Kristin,

Dulla Veeramma is a 70 year old widow living in the village of Sampara in coastal Andhra Pradesh. She lives with her son and daughter-in-law, and helps the latter with the household chores.  Veeramma was operated for cataract 5 years ago and she has been using spectacles since then. But last year, her grandson broke the spectacles by mistake. She could not afford new spectacles and at the same time, she did not want to ask her son or daughter-in-law.

Veeramma tried to manage without her glasses but found her deteriorating vision very crippling. It became virtually impossible to carry on independently. She was depressed as she was becoming a burden on her son and daughter-in-law.

Your donation, Kristin, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide a free pair of glasses to her. Veeramma can now perform her household chores without depending on anyone.

Thank you, Kristin, for restoring Veeramma’s eyesight and restoring her dignity.
