Lakshmi can see better and feel better

Seventy year old Surapu Lakshmi, a widow, lives in the village of Samalkot in coastal Andhra Pradesh. She lives with her son and daughter-in-law and helps a lot with the household chores as she does not like to be  a burden on her son’s family.

Until last year, she was able to perform her household responsibilities with ease. But, with deteriorating vision, daily tasks became almost impossible to do, and she began to feel depressed.

During an eye examination, it was discovered that Lakshmi needed spectacles. Being poor, she could not afford new spectacles and, at the same time, she did not want to ask her son.

Your donation, Mary, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide a free pair of glasses to her. Lakshmi can now see well again.
