Seventy year old Karapa Satyavathi lives in the village of Samalkot in coastal Andhra Pradesh. She is an unemployed widow with three sons; she lives with her eldest son ever since her husband’s demise. Her eldest son works as a mason, earning 4$ a day whenever he finds work. With that income, he has to support his wife, two children and Satyavathi.
In return, Satyavathi helps to look after the house, doing chores. Since last year she has not been able to assist her daughter in law because of herdeteriorating vision.
When her neighbors told her about the free eye camp at Sankurathri Foundation she attended it to get her eyes examined. After the examination she was told that she needed glasses to improve her vision, but she could not afford them due to her poverty.
Your donation, Ganesha, helped provide a free pair of spectacles to Satyavathi.
Thank you Ganesha, for helping Satyavathi get her eyesight back.
