Udit is well-liked by teachers and peers

Penke Upendranath
Dear Rick and Beth, Natasha, Arianna, Stacy, Helene, Frank, Ivo, Joe and Karen, Judd, and Julie,

Six year old Udit*, is a student of  Grade 1 at Sarada Vidyalayam, a school run by Sankurathri Foundation.. His father, Mr. Srinivasa Rao, is a carpenter and Udit has one sister who is also studying in the same school. The family lives in the village of Penumarthy in East Godavari District, in Andhra Pradesh, India. The monthly income of about $ 30 is barely sufficient to feed the whole family.

Despite his poverty, Udit is a very happy child, well-liked by all his teachers and other children. However, being malnourished and hungry, Udit could not concentrate on his studies when he started schooling.

Your generous donations, Natasha, Arianna (x3), Stacy, Helene (x2), Frank, Ivo, Joe and Karen, Judd, and Julie, of a month of lunches each, has made it possible for Sankurathri Foundation to provide a year of nutritious lunches comprising of rice, lentils, leafy vegetables and clarified butter to Udit. He will also enjoy a glass of milk in the afternoon. With these two food supplements, Udit will become healthy and will be able to concentrate on his studies better.

Thank you, Rick and Beth, for donating a set of two school uniforms to Udit. His parents struggle to meet ends meet, and for them, having two sets of new clothes is a big relief. Once the school year is through, they are sure to recycle the uniforms into his daily wear.

Thank you for coming together to support Udit!
