Kalinaru Varshini studying second grade at Sarada Vidyalayam. Her
father is Mr. Kumar works in a local company for a salary of $ 45 per
month. Varshini has also one younger brother and mother at home and
they all live in village Penumarthy. In addition to these members Mr.
Kumar also has to look after his sick mother at home which costs lot
of money for medications.
Under such circumstances education is never a priority for them and if
they send the child to work she can make some money to supplement the
family income. In this manner many boys and girls in the rural areas
are becoming child laborers and supporting their families.
Thus there are many children in the rural areas who are drop outs of
education because of their parents’ economic conditions. Sarada
Vidyalayam is helping such children to complete their education
without any financial burden to their parents. The school provides not
only free education, but also provides free books, uniforms, school
bags, a pair of sandals, transportation, nutritious lunch, milk,
medical check ups, medicines to all the children.
Most of the rural children are undernourished and underweight. As they
don’t eat nutritious meals we are providing lunch and milk at the
school for these children. With these supplement these children look
healthy and happy. Despite her poverty at home Varshini is a very
happy child.
With your assistance we can provide lunches to Varshini so that she can continue her studies.
