Yethula can look after herself now and live with dignity in her old age

Yethula Lakshmi
Dear Rajeev,

Yethula is a 65-year-old widow living in the rural village of Valasapakala, India. Her husband, Ramu, died 12 years ago due to a heart attack. She has two sons and one daughter. Yethula is practically helpless yet works as a daily laborer to make her living — she earns about $2 a day. She became depressed a few months ago when she noticed defective vision in both her eyes and could not go to work. She also had no money for a medical checkup.

She learned about the Sankurathri Foundation around that time and visited them. She received a complete eye checkup from them and was advised glasses for better vision. They provided her with a pair of glasses with your kind donation.

Thank you for your kindness Rajeev. With your help, Yethula can look after herself now and live with dignity in her old age.
