60 year old Gurada is a resident of Arthapuram in coastal Andhra Pradesh, India. She lives with her husband, Veera, who is a farmer and earns $2 a day when he has work. Gurada has two daughters that live with their families.
Gurada developed cataracts in both eyes and had no money for a corrective operation. She attended the free eye screening camp offered by the Sankurathri Foundation and they performed surgery on her left eye to repair a cataract. Afterwards, she found that she needed corrective spectacles to see well. When Sankurathri officials told her the price of the spectacles, she said she could not afford it. Your generosity, Tony, allowed the Sankurathri Foundation to give her glasses free of charge.
Thank you for your kindness. With your help Appayamma can see well again!
