Kranthi is seven years old and just completed the first grade at Sankurathri’s school in Andhra Pradesh, India. Her father is a taxi driver and earns about four dollars daily. This is not adequate to financially support Kranthi and her siblings. Most children in Kranthi’s situation are forced into child labor to support their family.
Sankurathri provides education and daily meals for children like Kranthi. These school meals include a nutritious lunch and a glass of milk. This provides incentive to attend school regularly as the meal is often the only food that the students receive for the day.
Thank you for providing someone like Kranthi with a year of school meals. It will ensure her attendance in school and improve her health. Kranthi looks forward to second grade at Sankurathri’s school without presenting a burden for her parents.
