Gangaraju can return to his job

Panthadi Gangaraju
Dear Peggy,

Panthadi Gangaraju is a 55 year old fisherman, living with his wife, in the village of Valasapakala in coastal Andhra Pradesh. They have two daughters and one son, who are married and living with their families. Gangaraju, the sole breadwiner, earns a monthly income of 25$, which fluctuates depending on the amount of fish he hauls in. The income is barely enough to make ends meet.

His failing vision further depressed him as his occupation demanded that he see well. Because of his poverty, he could not afford new spectacles.

Your donation, Peggy, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide a free pair of glasses to him. Gangaraju can now return to his occupation without depending on anyone.

Thank you, Peggy, for restoring Gangaraju’s eyesight and restoring his dignity.

Anasuri Appala Narsamma
Dear Bellevue Rotary and Anuj,

Anasuri Appalanarasamma is a 60 year old widow who lives in the village of Gaigulapadu in coastal Andhra Pradesh. She has one son and four daughters, who are living independently, in a neighboring village. Appalanarasamma’s husband passed away 2 years ago. She lives alone and works as a daily laborer earning 10$ a month whenever she finds work. Since the earnings barely suffice to afford three square meals a day, the families that she works for, provide her free meals in exchange of work.

Until recently, she was able to successfully manage the household chores and work as a laborer. But her vision began to drop gradually, making it virtually impossible to carry on independently. She was depressed.

Appalanarasamma found that she needed corrective glasses in order to see well. She, however, had no money to pay for the glasses, and thought she would continue without glasses.

Your donation, Bellevue Rotary and Anuj, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide a free pair of glasses to her. Appalanarasamma can now perform her household chores and work as a laborer without depending on anyone.

Thank you, Bellevue Rotary and Anuj, for restoring Appalanarasamma’s eyesight and restoring her dignity.
