gave 20 for a pair of glasses |
posted April 4, 2011
Dear Vijendher,
Nine year old, Prasad is studying in the 4th grade in a rural primary school in Vemulavada, in coastal Andhra Pradesh. His father was a farmer, who passed awaythree years ago because of his alcohol problem. Prasad is now being looked after only by his mother, Bullemma, who works as a domestic servant and earns $ 30 per month. With that income, she also has to support two other daughters who are older than Prasad.
Prasad, who is a good student started complaining to his teachers about his blurry vision. The teacher referred Prasad to the eye hospital, run by Sankurathri Foundation. After a complete eye-examination, it was found that Prasad needed corrective glasses, to be able to see clearly. Knowing his family background and his mother’s plight, Prasad was provided a pair of glasses by Sankurathri Foundation.
Your generous donation, Vijendher, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to provide Prasad a pair of glasses, with which he can now see clearly and can also perform better in school.
Thank you, Vijendher for your thpughtful gift of glasses to Prasad!
