Dear Akiko,
Eight year old, Praveen, is the oldest of four children. The family lives in th village of Penumarthi, in coastal Andhra Pradesh. His father, Raghava, is an agricultural laborer and earns a meager sum of $100 a month,to support his family.
With this sum, he can’t afford to pay for the school fee or any other additional expenses of his children. Sankurathri Foundation provides free education to Praveen and he is currently studying the 2nd grade in Sarada Vidyalayam, a school run by Sankurathi.
Praveen is a very active and bright student. He comes to school regularly. His old uniforms became faded and became short and tight for him. Since it is a common phenomenon for children in rural areas to drop out of school because of their parents’ economic condition, Sarada Vidyalayam helps such children complete their education without any financial burden to their parents.
Your generous donation, Akiko, enabled Sarada Vidyalayam to provide him a set of two uniforms, which he now uses. He was very excited to receive this gift from you and looks very cute, in his new uniforms.
Thank you, Akiko, for this very thoughtful gift for Praveen which comes as a big relief to his parents. Your support is much appreciated.
