gave 20 for a pair of glasses |
posted April 4, 2011
Dear Trevor,
Sixty year old, Veerraju, is an old widow from V.K.Rayapuram village, in coastal Andhra Pradesh. Her husband died in a road accident, two years ago and since then she has been living with her son and his family. Up to last year, she was able to manage her own chores at home and was also working as a daily wage laborer, to supplement her son’s income.
But since the last one year, her vision had started diminishing and she found it difficult to manage her chores at home and at work and was very upset about her condition.
She attended the eye screening camp, organized by Sankurathri Foundation and after a thorough eye examination it was found that she needed corrective glasses for her to see well. When she was told about the price of the glasses, she said that she has no money as she is not an earning member at present and could not afford to buy one. She also did not want to ask her son for money. Based on her economic condition, Sankurathri Foundation provided her a pair of glasses.
Your generous donation, Trevor, enabled Sankurathri Foundation to bear the cost of her glasses. Thanks to that, she can now see clearly and is very grateful to you for your support.
Thank you, Trevor, for helping Veerraju regain her confidence.
